As you can see on our website, Edulingo21.com, we charge a uniform fee for official translation of documents, we charge 3500 to 7000 Ft/page or 1.5 to 2.2 Ft/character plus VAT for translation of documents. Our customers often ask how we can charge the same fee for one line, half a page or full page and why we can not accept any short work as pro bono.
To cut it short the main reason is practicality. The Translation Assistant can confidently and independently charge for the translation and issue an invoice to the customer. Charging only based on the number of characters wouldn’t be fair, since some translations are short but need lots of editing for the document to look nearly identical to the original, even if the text in the target language is considerably longer or shorter. The qualified legal translator has to follow certain rules, like the names of schools and legal entities must be kept original to make the institution identifiable.
Order of day, month and year in the date of the document varies from country to country, but changing the order itself is not sufficient. A solution must be found, e.g. when the digits of the dates are reversed, so that the 3rd of July does not become the 7th of March. It wouldn’t be only misleading but could also question the authenticity of the document; how did the student finish his studies 4 months early?
If any data continues on the second page, even if it is only a word, the text can not be merged into one page and all pages must be numbered and signed. In addition the document has to be countersigned by a qualified, certified legal translator. However, some institutes have their own requirements. Some accept only paper form, some prefer the translation sent by an email directly to the Study Department or Human Resources Management. In our day to day practice, at Edulingo21 we don’t use spiral binding for documents. The pages are hole punched, tied by hand with spun yarn ribbon and are sealed with a unique translator’s stamp. It ensures that no page can be added or removed. This way your document is both authentic and appealing.

(Karadjordjeva snicla – Serbian Stuffed Schnitzel (stuffed with Kaymak cheese, which is then breaded and fried), mochi ice cream – ice cream in dough (made with rice flour mochiko).
- Flora: In the case of the colloquial names of plants in documents, please ask for the help of a professional (árvalány haj – Feather Grass (Stipa), in literal translation: orphan hair).
