Translation of official documents

Documents are usually requested as official translations, which means that, at the request of the client, the translated documents and contracts are stamped in the language concerned with the stamp of our translation agency, Edulingo21, certifying that the translation has been done by our agency and accompanied by a declaration of conformity stating that the original and the translated document are identical in all respects. In Hungary, this is called an official translation and it’s a great way to do business abroad.

Nowadays, almost all translations we stamp are accepted by Hungarian and foreign authorities and courts. In our experience, authentic translations are more important at home.

If you want to get married in Hungary, register a child born abroad, apply for Hungarian citizenship, or register a car bought abroad to have a Hungarian registration number, you will most often be asked for an OFFI translation. But it is a good idea to ask the place where you are doing business whether this is necessary, as it can save you a lot of time and money. If OFFI translation is definitely required, we can also help you by having Edulingo21 Translation Agency translate your documents and then we will contact OFFI https://www.offi.hu/hiteles-forditas/arak to proofread and certify the material to be translated.

FAQS
  • How will you receive the translated documents?

You can request a translation of official documents online or by post. When requesting a quote, it is important that you also include a description of how you would like to receive the documents in your email or on the phone. If digital translation is enough, we will send you the documents by email, if you need them by post, we will send you the translated, sealed and stapled documents in a bubble envelope as a postal parcel.

  • Do I need a declaration of agreement?

If the translation was requested as part of a transactional process, yes. Even if the legal or commercial text is only being translated for your own purposes, it is still worth providing a declaration of agreement, as this may be required at any time in the future.
It is advisable to provide a declaration of agreement with the documents, because the authorities may ask for it when dealing with certain matters. There is no extra cost for the declaration of agreement.
