Medical translations with special attention
We have specialist translators who work in the health sectors, so they have no problem translating medical texts. Medical translations are a priority for our company. Thorough, up-to-date knowledge is important for medical texts, and this is a prerequisite for high-quality specialist translation. It is important that the use of terms is uniform and consistent throughout the text (once the word “hyperthermia” is chosen, it should be used throughout the document – it should not be translated as “heatstroke” anywhere).
In the context of textual fidelity, the scope specification should take into account whether the foreign language term has a commonly used equivalent in the medical/pharmaceutical terminology of the target language. Conversely, when translating a patient information leaflet, it is essential to ensure that it is understandable to the lay reader (e.g. “ague” or “malaria”; “grippe” or “influenza” or “flu”). Professionals
can also help you to know what document you need (e.g. the official name of the document known as the Little Health Book is Health Declaration and Examination Record C.3151-2/A, and the official name of the record known as the Red Book in the UK is the Personal Child Health Record (PCHR).
Health and human services
Translations of medical texts often require an original signed and stamped certificate, known as an official translation. Please indicate your intention to provide an official translation when requesting a quote.
Child health record booklet and Vaccination Annex: medical records from birth, mode of delivery (caesarean, forceps), infant examinations (hip fistula, heart…), newborn ultrasound, general check-ups. Vaccination book: used to keep track of vaccinations of minor children.
Antenatal care booklet (Pregnancy booklet): includes, among other things, the week of delivery based on the specialist’s report and risk factors. The booklet is constantly updated with information on events and test results that affect the pregnancy and the mother. It also includes information on blood group, oncology and family history of abnormalities, ultrasound results, blood and urine test results, previous pregnancies and their course.
Health Declaration and Investigation Data Form (Health Booklet): compulsory for workers in areas with a high epidemiological risk.
Our specialist translators can help you translate the following documents: medical reports: considered an extract from the medical record, they summarise the information and actions related to the patient’s condition. Surgical report, follow-up treatment proposal, detailed patient information and patient consent form, routine medical checks (e.g. haematology, thrombosis), ultrasound findings, infertility advice, SNI childcare documents: legally binding documents describing the special educational, training, health and care needs of the child, which may qualify the child for support. Application for disability, etc.

Do I need a declaration of agreement?
If the translation was requested as part of a transactional process, yes. Even if a medical, veterinary or biological text is translated for your own purposes, it is still worth providing a declaration of conformity, as this may be required at any time in the future.
It is recommended that documents be accompanied by a declaration of conformity, as the authorities may ask for it when dealing with certain matters. There is no extra charge for the declaration of conformity. How will you receive the translated documents?
You can request a translation of your medical documents online or by post, but when requesting a quote, it is important to include this in your email or tell us how you would like to receive the documents over the phone.
